Description
A digital edition and research site for Basilio Brollo's Chinese-Latin dictionary. Brollo was a Franciscan missionary (1648–1704), and the dictionary exists in two versions traditionally dated to about 1694 and 1699. The site is built on manuscript Rinuccini 22 (Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana, Florence). You can browse the manuscript page by page, search characters and historical romanisations, and open character records with readings, definitions, variants, and relationships. It also has Latin lexical analysis tools and a tool for comparing an outside Chinese text against the dictionary, and it is meant to be used with Gabriele Tola's open access critical edition (John Benjamins, 2026).
