Description
Hytung Books (瀚堂典藏) is a full-text database of ancient Chinese books and archaeological materials built on a UTF-16 Unicode search engine capable of handling over 70,000 Chinese characters. The database contains approximately 30,000 texts totaling over one billion characters and five million page images, with particular depth in etymological and classical dictionaries, historical literature, and unearthed writings including oracle bone and bronze inscriptions, bamboo slips, and silk manuscripts. Each text record is linked to corresponding page images, enabling direct comparison between transcribed text and original sources. Hytung has produced critically edited digital editions of the Shuowen Jiezi and the Kangxi Dictionary.
