Description
The Chinese Historical Place Name Query System (中國歷史地名查詢系統), developed by the Institute of History and Philology (Academia Sinica), provides searchable data on the evolution of administrative divisions in China and Taiwan from the Ming dynasty to the present, along with access to historical maps sourced from local gazetteers. The system supports search by place name, map coordinates, and keyword, and includes a hierarchical browsing function displaying administrative genealogies. Online map viewing is restricted to on-site use at the Fu Ssu-nien Library.
