Description
The Ming Government Official Titles crowd-translation project, funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation through the Council on East Asian Libraries (CEAL) Innovation Grant, produced a comprehensive Chinese-English bilingual dictionary of Ming dynasty government official titles, supplementing Charles Hucker’s Dictionary of Official Titles in Imperial China. The dictionary is freely available via UC eScholarship, and an API for Ming official titles continues to support the China Biographical Database (CBDB). The platform at UCI Libraries remains live and open for scholarly contributions.
