Description
The Qing Dynasty Grain Price Database (清代糧價資料庫), hosted by the Institute of Modern History (Academia Sinica), contains approximately 2.19 million records of grain price data drawn from monthly provincial reports submitted to the emperor beginning in 1736. Compiled over several decades by economist Wang Yeh-chien (1930–2014) in collaboration with institutions in Taiwan, the United States, and China, and finalized at the Institute of Modern History in 2008, it is considered the most reliable and methodologically consistent source of pre-1912 Chinese price history.
